What is Web 2.0?

The internet is changing rapidly and sometimes it is difficult for educators to keep up. Our students have embraced the new technologies and made them an integral part of their daily activities, usually with the exception of school. They come to school and have to revert to information models with roots in the 20th century. It's no wonder they feel frustrated, and we as teachers feel the frustration as well when we fail to fully engage them in the learning process.

We will begin exploring ways to incorporate these innovations and harness their power for use in the classroom. Your students already feel at ease with Web 2.0 applications, and it is our hope that you will feel more at ease with them too. Hopefully, you'll gain the confidence to implement some the ideas presented in the course into your classroom!
